What is Coaching?

What's it all about?

Coaching is process of personal growth that connects you with your potential. Based on my coaching experience, I can tell you that you will have way more potential than you give yourself credit for. 

 

So how does it work? 

Put simply, together, we will look at your goals, identify any obstacles in your way, including the obstacles you put in your own way (don’t worry, we all do it!) and create a plan to take you through the changes to get you where you want to be.  This will enable you to take control of your life instead of your life controlling you.

I will offer you support, guidance and understanding in a compassionate and motivational way.  I believe that encouragement, kindness, accountability and a bit of hard work on your part will get you where you want to be. I am living poof of that.

 

Coaching gives you a unique opportunity to finally break free from the cycle of restricted or diet-led eating, or bingeing /overeating. 

 

You'll finally learn how to eat well, with no deprivation, in a way that supports your health and wellbeing.

Can Coaching help me?

Coaching gives you a different perspective, allowing you a safe place to explore your situation and challenges, it helps you see your own obstacles and excuses and provides motivation and accountability.

 

So, is coaching the right approach for you?

The only person who can truly answer that question is you.  So to help you make that decision, I’ve outlined what to expect and what not to expect, from my style of coaching.

 

What not to expect:

  • I don’t have a magic wand

  • I won’t give you a diet plan to follow

  • I won’t ask you to eat ‘diet’ foods

  • I won’t give you specific ‘diet’ recipes

  • I won’t ask you to restrict

  • I won’t ask you to calorie count

  • I won’t ask you to stop eating fat or sugar

  • I won’t expect you to change everything at once

So what can you expect?

I work closely with my clients, within their parameters, within their lifestyle, to help them get ‘unstuck’ and onto the right path for them, enabling sustainable habit change.

 

We will take it slowly

There is no quick fix, as these notoriously lead to eventual failure. We will spend time understanding you and your lifestyle, so we can create a personalised plan that suits you.
 

I will help you:

  • Understand the science behind hunger

  • Recognise your own hunger and fullness cues, something many of us have lost the ability to do

  • Tune into your hunger, differentiating between physical and emotional hunger

  • Understand your cravings

  • Understand the neuroscience behind your unhealthy and unhelpful habits

  • Understand your own saboteurs and how to deal with them

  • Develop the understanding to help you create new habits using specialist tried and tested tools

  • Build and strengthen your motivation and willpower

  • Dial down the negative, critical voice in your head

  • Learn self compassion


Above all, I will treat you as an individual. We're all different, with different needs.
